Wait just a cotton pickin´minute Micky, has Capt´n´s horse been fooling around with someones Donkey?

Look I can´t be fooled on this, we used a mule three days a week for drivers education classes in North Carolina, the other two days it was resurved for sex education classes....
Google Mule Days in Benson NC......

BTW a mule is a hell of a lot smarter than a horse, why do you think Teddy Rosenvelt charged up San Juan Hill on one?

Micky please, don´t make fun of mules, they did military time too!

So I'm curious, How much is a coffee plantation in central america? How many trees do you need to make a decent penny? I'm sure it's more work than I probably want to sign up for, but I'm curious.

Good Question!

We have NO intention of having a coffee plantation. However, I have enough years behind me to know that my intentions and actual outcomes often differ….like always!

Prices range for 8 million for 10 hectare and up. Naturally the price depends upon two things. How rich and productive the soil is and what is the vista like? The second part is the one driving the real estate market at this time …think development.

I have talked with two gringos and know of three others who got into the coffee business. None are making money! Competition from Brazil and especially Vietnam have driven the coffee prices down as production costs rise and in many cases above the price of sales.

While it is true, for the most part, that you can stick a bush into the grown here and it WILL produce coffee, rate of return on the land purchase cost is non existent. Don’t see any way of changing that part of the equation.

Also VERY few of the indigenous people speak Spanish, they are the ones who do all the work on the plantations. The Ngobe people have what is referred to as a ‘sounds simple’ language (the language name is ‘Buglere’ or 'Ngäbere'). For instance the word for road is ‘HE’ and the word for rock is “HO”. Obviously context is paramount in trying to understand any thing. (Note: there are 14 spoken languages in Panama).

“…a desperate search for the SECOND bean.” - Micky

Ok, WHICH one of you guys let the bean out of the bag and told Micky? Home Land Security is going to hear about this leak if they haven’t already.
