I was trying to find a chanel with the concert today, but the best I could do is Canal MEga they are having a good discussion of the impact of the concert with a lot of coverage.. I know they showed it in many other countries on regular tv.. I guess I was dissapointed as Juanes is one of my favs... Nothing on my 20 latin chanells!

Here is an article about it... It is really a huge deal for Cuba, and I think with the impact of people saying that Juanes is really endorsing FIDEL and the Cuban regime, I teng to think the other way.. He is showing them what the world has to offer outside the white lined beaches that hold back soo many cubans!

Some 500,000 to a million are in attendance!!!

It's 8AM here Monday and about an hour ago I saw a report about Peace Without Borders on CNN World Report.

I think you are both wrong about Juanes having a political agenda [either pro or contra Fidel]. His concert was about peace, not about US/Cuban politics.

When I saw Shakira in Phoenix in 2003, peace was a major there in her concert. Music is about bringing people together.

I didn't know Juanes now lived in Miami. That was a shocker.

Juanes has lived in florida for lke 7 years.. Anyways, he is not about politics, he is about freedom and peace man.. Kind of iconic in the latin world for all that!!

He is a smart guy, he is giving los cubanos the taste of it right now!!

Jim, I am sure you probably dont follow latin news much, this is his second concert like this. He had one on the brdge between Venezuela and colombia when HUGo go all upity when the colombians killed his buddy the farc leader..

Interstingly Hilary Clinton helped him and the 140 or so amercan staff all get their visas to promote the concert!!

I think almost every Latin American pop star that was actually born in Latin America lives in Miami. If not, they come every weekend to party...and I think that's a lot less likely.

Whether Juanes had a political agenda or not, Castro's regime is obviously going to try and give the world the impression than he is in full support of his rule on the island of Cuba. I was on the phone with my girlfriend while she was watching the concert. For some reason she was very emotional about his performance.

They are having some good covereage tonight Benjio on the latin news channels...

It is pretty emotional, cause they just dont get those kind of performers there in a group like that... Cubans just cant afford it.... And some are saying close to a million people although it looks like less!! There is defintely a lot of people who came out for this free event!

If you catch some of the coverage you can see how much heart is in the cuban people and how much heart the performers are giving!!! Its a good deal man!!

I saw Juames live in Phoenix a few years ago. He is indeed a talented and charismatic singer.

I went with my ex Costa Rican wife [after we were already divorced] and to see her jump up and down was a show in itself. When he sang "A Dios le Pido" i remembered Tonk's line that the first time he heard it he thought he was singing "Adios libido".

Entertainment is my obsession, Broadway Musicals and Spanish performers. I've seem Paulina Rubio twice in Phoenix and even drove to San Diego one time to see Thalia. I also saw Mana in Phoenix. Besides great entertainment, it's amazing to go somewhere in the US and seeing the total dominance of Hispanic culture.
