Entertainment is my obsession, Broadway Musicals and Spanish performers. I've seem Paulina Rubio twice in Phoenix and even drove to San Diego one time to see Thalia. I also saw Mana in Phoenix. Besides great entertainment, it's amazing to go somewhere in the US and seeing the total dominance of Hispanic culture.
It's also a big hobby of mine to go to concerts. Haven't been to one in Colombia yet but it won't be long. Some artist absolutely amaze me because their stage presence completely overshadows the quality of their music. Juanes is definitely one of those artist. Nelly Furtado is another. She does tons of concerts in Latin America. If you ever have the chance to see her perform, GO! It will be worth every penny! Great concert for a date!

My girlfriend says it's her dream to see Shakira live. Surprisingly she doesn't perform too often in Barranquilla. When she's there, it's for charity. She did however tear up the Verizon Wireless Theatre here in Houston three or four years ago. Fantastic show.....those hips will put a banana in your pocket if you're sitting close enough.

I love live music, I have probably been to 500 + concerts in my life as I worked in a club and met and saw the great. I just havent been to a big concert in years..

I gonna make a point of checking out juanes o mana the 2 greatest latin rock stars..

I would really like to see Julieta Venegas for some reason that girl gets me going. Also Maia, but she never seams to perform... The last couple of trips I have looked for one of the big boys or girls of colombia in colombia, but they rarely have concerts there like Benjio said!!

I feel that Juanes' music is equal to his stage presence [both superlative]. I will assume that Nelly Furtado's stage presence exceeds her music because I can't identify anything she sings although I know she gave concerts in Phoenix before.

The Shakira concert I saw at America West [now US Airways] Arena in Phoenix was called "Tour of the Mongoose". She recorded her Rotterdam concert on the same tour on a DVD called "Shakira Live: Off the Record". The only difference between the concert was in Rotterdam she spoke in English.

Mitch, Grace and Jessamae love this DVD and they are always playing it and dancing. Since none of them speak any Spanish, it truly shows how universal this music is. Very talented.

I really think she and Thalia should NOT record in English. I skip over Thalia's English songs on a tape I have.

Nelly is one of those artist whose appearance kind of works against any recognition of what a fantastic song writer and musician she is. When you're that hot, your music matters a lot less, whether you're a genius or some pop tart poster girl. She's also become a very commercialize artist recently, which almost always comes at great cost to the integrity of the artform. If you're so inclined, you should listen to some of her stuff in Spanish. It's a lot better! She's actually written some songs and collaborated with Juanes on numerous occasions. Although she's of Portuguese decent, her talent really shines in the music she makes for the Latin American audience (in Spanish). Unfortunately, it's not the music "Big Brother Music Industry" puts all the promotion dollars behind.

It appears that Juanez didn't take kindly to having the Cuban "Big Brother" watch his every move. I guess that must make him a conspiracy theorist as well!
