I was going to go to Cuba via Costa Rica back in August, but I changed my mind because I was hearing that cuban immigration was charging more money for them not to stamp your passport. Plus it was around the time that Castro said that no more US dollars were welcomed in Cuba, his loss...

To KPunch,

If you ever go, or anybody else for that matter, consider bringing Canadian money or Euros. When you get there, exchange that money for the "convertible" peso. You have to do the math to see if the exchange is statiscally signifcant. I'm not being faceitous, that's just the way it is.

When was or if I was there? I plead the 5th amendment. That still exists doesn't it?

Cubafro -

Tell me about the salsa scene. yo soy salerso de puerto rico via North Philly. I am one rican that will admit that salsa originated from cuba....but perfected by ricans (NYC y la isla mi encanto). I would be in salsa heaven if I went to cuba.

EDDIE,

In CUBA for sure you'll be in heaven ; why??
Because CUBA is all about salsa. Everywhere en los barrios encuentras salseros y tambien salseras vailando en la calle.... If you're into it then you're good to go because they'll come to you for a dance...It's all about seduction especially si una cubana te invita a vailar...

I just traveled to Cuba this February for their national bike race la Vuelta Ciclistica a Cuba. I was there 20 days for the 14 stage race and LOVED the country. The race starts in Baracoa and races all the way to Pinar del Rio and then back to Havana. Needless to say I saw the entire country! Allthough I went legally on a sporting visa, I learned alot about how i could go back for fun. Feel free to ask me anything about my experience.

Fidel has given the reigns to his brother! Think this is the prelude to some changes along the way?

I think that the more important developement is the discovery of large oil deposits there. But when Fidel is gone - I wouldn't want to be there the day everyone finds out!!!
