You can visit. You just have to know how to ask the Mexican immigration agents NOT to stamp your passport when you enter Mexico from Cuba. And make sure the Cubans dont stamp it either. A small bribe ($20) to Mexican agents should do the trick. I have yet to see it not work... you just have to know the proper procedure for paying them off.

Oh the joys of having two passports...

I agree. The good-guy-and-gal American travelers far outweigh the "ugly American" birds. The good guy travelers are the best ambassadors and transmitters of American values and ideas, and thereby might be the best chance for democracy to return to Havana.

As far as price increases for hotel rooms and food with more tourism, that would probably happen anyway over time, and perhaps not any more so than in all the other Latin countries where Americans can freely travel to now.

If some trade restrictions could also be eased, our economy could help weather our current recession, and also help lift the daily economic lives of Cubans at the same time.

As far back as 1963, Robert F. Kennedy advocated the lifting of all travel restrictions to Cuba. See: http://www.gwu.edu/~nsarchiv/NSAEBB/NSAEBB158/index.htm

I am a dual citizen with India, and could travel to Cuba with my India passport. But I'd rather go freely as an American without having to work around Treasury Dept. and State Dept. restrictions.

Some of the arguments in favor of the "Freedom to Travel to Cuba Act" were laid out at the Senate Press Conference on March 31.

And you have no interest in Indian women??

I was in India about 5 years ago for a month. I spent 2 weeks in Mumbai and two weeks in Hyderabad. I saw some of the most amazingly beautiful women there! You must have some family ties to India, so meeting an Indian woman would be easier for you than it would be me.

Yes, I have traveled to India several times, last time to Goa (the place where the hippies in the 60s and the Beatles once visited.) I really liked Goa. Incredible sunsets, beaches and spicy Indian food. Hope to go back again in the future...

But frankly India is a bit of a ride from Pennsylvania...

Yes it is. But you have to admit, spicy lamb masala or chicken curry with garlic naan.... Man... I'm hungry already! Yeah... you can go to an Indian restaurant and eat it, but nothing is like the food while in India! Same goes with most countries food.

I liked India. Never felt unsafe, people were friendly, food was good... nice place!

Even better idea: just throw out the entire embargo itself?

Well the problem, or one of them is we have a whole community especially in Miami that know what living in a communistic regime is like and to my knowledge they support the embargo.....

Nothing is forever and very few things written in Stone......

Perhaps it is time for a change in approach to a problem....

Because the oppression on the populas was and perhaps is still so bad that many faced shark infested waters in an innertube to get the hell out.....

It could not have been good, perhaps it still isn't, I don't know...
