It could not have been good, perhaps it still isn't, I don't know...
To my way of thinking, it has less to do with the fact that Cuba is a Socialist nation, and, I think, more to do with the fact that it has defied the will and interests of Washington. And Washinfton doesn't actually despise socialist governments, just the ones that will not let them come in and make a buck at the expense of the people.

One does not defy Washington without paying a steep price.

Been wanting go Cuba loooong time. How do Americans go? People say itīs illegal and if u get busted your Passporte suspended 1 year.

It is done all the time thru other countries as from Canada.....

It's also noted that US customs agents stake out the airports in Canada to determine if some American has been in Cuba illegally. Better to go through Mexico.
