Default Nicaragua Remains A No Mans Land Due To War

There was a time, I think it was back in the 1970's after the huge quake in Nicaragua. Yea, in the 70's and it seemed then that after the quake the country just might settle down and become a peaceful place to live. What happened to the peace?
