Default Strength of Family Ties

Here's an interesting story from today's El País suggesting just how strong family ties can be in Colombia:

Nuevo escándalo en el Ejército

www.elpais.com.co/Canal RCN

Default Re: Strength of Family Ties

LA,

I had a familiar situation explained to me by some financial Latino heavyweights.

I was asked why individuals in the U.S. were ‘surprised’ when in the Bush - Gore presidential election, it came to down to Florida, a State where Jeb Bush was the Governor. The decision went in favor of G.W.

One of my political mentors in this conversation stated, “should the decision have gone in favor of Gore, Jeb Bush would have dishonored his family. Jeb’s FIRST duty was to his family. Therefore before it was decided, it was decided!" " No person in Latin America thought there was any other possibility. Why did any of you Gringos think otherwise?”
