Default Cowboy Del Amor

I rented this movie "Cowboy Del Amor" from Netflix this week and I think the guys on this forum would appreciate it. Whether you are looking for someone in Mexico, Colombia, or another Latin American country, this is a film for guys like us.

It's a documentary that follows "Cowboy Cupid" Ivan Thompson in his quest to find good Mexican wives for American men who are tired of American women. The film is funny, insightful, and touching at times. At least one of the men found a really good match. Has anyone else seen this movie?

i saw that movie and only had one problem with it at certain times in the movie he was kinda 2 faced like when he went to see the family of the women that got stood up and said he knew it wouldnt work out. He never expressed any hestitation to the client. and also how he didnt want his wife to be educated and that caused the divorce that gives all us guys a bad name and just feeds into the stereotype that we just want maids and slaves and not wives

Yeah you're right about Ivan. It was easy to see why he has had problems with women. He needs to be in total control of every situation. Even with clients, he doesn't like it when the women already speak english because then it is "out of his hands". I appreciated the scenes with Rick and his courtship of Francis though. They seemed to find the kind of connection that many of us are searching for. She really seemed like my type anyway.

It is a documentary comedy about a cowboy-turned-matchmaker. It is amusing, but doesn't feel quite right. It just kind of meanders along. Ivan Thompson herds lovelorn gringos across the border and fixes them up with eager (sometimes too eager) Mexican brides.
