As a consequence the number of expats considering a move to Peru and the number of expats in Peru continues to grow but why is the country now all of a sudden registering on the radar of the expat community? Trade and investment between Peru and Brazil will continue to increase in coming years, taking advantage of new business opportunities in a context of increased infrastructure, according to research from South American bank BBVA. The bank, through its Observatorio Económico Perú, pointed out that economic ties between Brazil and Peru are still relatively scarce.

Bank lending rates rise in Peru in a bid to keep inflation under control as growth predictions increase

Peru’s central bank has raised its benchmark lending rate for the fifth month in a row as the country’s fastest economic expansion since 2008 threatens to push up inflation. Concern that growth in South America’s sixth biggest economy may become unsustainable resulted in the rate moving up half a point to 3%.
